Welcome to the Tri-City Democrats

Welcome to the TCD webpage and blog. We are still under construction, so please bear with us.

  1. PROTESTING 101:

Folks driving by will have 1-2 seconds to read your sign. Walking they will have 3-4 seconds.

Use Bright colored poster board or even better, presentation board because you can hold it one handed.

USE LARGE WIDE black LETTERS or outline the LARGE colored letters heavily in Black.

    TEN WORDS, no more.

FACE traffic, walk toward traffic if on the sidewalk and walking. DON'T hold the sign parallel to traffic (can't be read) or expect traffic going in the opposite direction to see the sign.

Stand far enough back not to be hit by truck/bus/trailer mirrors. It hurts, trust me.

WATCH your back, don't get shoved into traffic.

If they give you a single digit salute, wave and grin, then act surprised and say "say HI to your MOM (sister, daughter, aunt, wife) in a loud voice....

If they wave, grin and wave back.

Wearing gloves will help you hang onto the sign.

Wear sunscreen and a hat. Have water with you. Have a windbreaker tied around your waist. In winter add thermal undies and vaseline your face if you don't wear sunscreen.

Lock your car and practice the buddy system.

Most law enforcement is your friend, treat them well. Smile and Wave.

REMEMBER EVERY TUESDAY THERE IS A PROTEST NEAR YOU. Ours is from 4-5pm at John Dam Plaza in Richland.
